Talking with Tometaro's father at Shiodome

As many of you know Tometaro Jr has been living with me for some time and has traveled to exciting and not so exciting locations.

Furthermore sometimes he has be in charge of Orange Cap Sect activities related to travel and lodging. Try this http://miffaisno1.blogspot.sg/search?q=tometaro for more information

This past Sunday I was talking to his father in Park Hotel Tokyo's lobby - where he works - to give him some feedback about his son. I told him I was impressed about his notable performance and achievements during that time and that in my opinion he was ready to take over the position in the hotel...

But Mr. Tometaro said that he has not the feeling that the moment to step over had arrived. More time gaining experience and facing good and not so good things all over the world should be positive to prepare his son for the difficult but rewarding task.

Ok, Mr. Tometaro.

It's always a pleasure visiting you!

Welcome to Scotland

After an infamous experience with Ryanair - there were no other option available - I manage to arrive to Edinburgh on schedule to have dinner but I learnt that this airline IS NOT CHEAP (200 Euros Barcelona to Edinburgh, no luggage, no additional service) and that SOMEONE need to stop their - sometimes - illegal activities.

But forget about the drama (I will pass through it when returning). This March it's snowing in one of the coldest winters they have had in 50 years, so it's perfect weather for my first visit to this country. (I am not joking, I love snow)

As you know lately Tometaro is traveling with me in almost all my recent trips and may be because my father is becoming and old lazy bastard my plans is to enjoy my Spa Hotel in the bushes, some light activities in town center and - may be- some shopping.

By the way, Tometaro made a good friend just arrived to the hotel.

Miffy themed hotel in Osaka (Japan)

Old Grandma is very popular in Japan. There you can find a lot of merchandise in toy stores and Lawson (convenience store chain similar to 7eleven) offers promotions and point redemption programs where the prizes are often Miffy's tableware.

As you know if you read last blog entry, my friend 9j sent us wonderful gifts and one of them it was a book called "Always Miffy".

Inside the book there is a lot of information about Miffy's books, exhibitions and some places you should visit if you are a great fan.

One of the most, let's say impressive, it's Hilton Hotel Osaka. Located close to the JR (Japan Rail) station it's a modern, big, convenient hotel with special rooms for Miffy's fans. rooms are decorated with Miffy's drawings, and you get Miffed candy and special breakfast with the package.

Family and friends re-unite

Some time ago we discovered Park Hotel Tokyo. It was our second visit to Father Bunny's beloved Tokyo city.

Location is excellent, service is outstanding, views are some of the best in Tokyo, but above all, people is nice and friendly, they make your stay better than you dreamed about it!

And last,  they gave us Tometaro Jr. as a present. I promised the front desk attendant who gave it to me that i will take him to nice places, in order to make Tometaro Jr. an International Hotel Manager Consultant.

But we promised Tometaro that we will be back in Shiodome to visit Tometaro Sr, and here we are.

More Wales – Swansea and Tenby

During our stay in UK we decided to optimize transportation and thus we were in a place that is well known for being just in the middle of all the routes.

London, Southwest, Southeast, North, The Midlands, all these places are around 2 hundred something miles away from our place.

Driving in UK is not a pleasant activity, lot of cars, road works, bad weather, lot of detours, traffic cameras…

The above means that two hundred and something miles are almost four hundred kilometres and four to five hours to arrive your destination.
We were forced to split our Welsh -one day express trip- into a -two days explorer expedition- in order to visit a decent place that would pay for the time and gas used.

Forget anything you have heard about Swansea, just don’t stop there and move North towards Tenby and around.

Bridge over Kwai river: Thai adventures

I am having less time than desired to organize and post my impressions about this travel. This is mainly because I have no free internet in my hotel. Yes, you can say this is an absolutely scum, providing that I am paying almost 400 euros a day.

Anyways, time is gold, well here it's more than diamonds.

We visited Northern Thailand, including Bridge over Kwai river and Father Bunny is under an elephant.

Don't miss it!

Tometaro's English Breakfast

Tometaro is used to a very different kind of breakfast. Although in his hotel (Park Hotel Tokyo) you can enjoy continental and English breakfast in the lobby restaurant,  he prefers a more traditional Japanese breakfast including miso soup, rice and some fish.

But he is in England now and there is no choice, so let me introduce some of the ingredients of today's Tometaro breakfast (he will become bigger than big Tometaro if he eats so much).

  • - British pork sausage
  • - fried egg over fried white bread
  • - baked beans
  • - fried potato flakes
  • - baked tomatoes
  • - bacon
  • - mushrooms
  • - scrambled eggs
  • - orange juice

not shown: terrible coffe and regular tea.

Enjoy!!

Shimbashi - The Middle that Counts

We have been three or four times in Shimbashi area (Shiodome Tower) since our second visit to Japan. We wanted to be again here but Father Bunny had some concerns about the distance between the Start and Finish of the Marathon.

After testing it live we should say it’s the perfect place, quiet, lively, in the middle of everyplace that matters in Tokyo.

Now I have a new friend “boooouuuboo” or Tometaro

Island Shangri-La pool and Father Bunny

Well, I have the feeling that lately Father Bunny is obsessed with running, cycling and swimming. This is surely because of bad companions.

But for this time I will like to thank them because from the 28 meters long swimming pool my favourite building – The Bank of China- view is just fantastic.

May be Father Bunny wants to thank the building for the good luck it gave to him in the Marathon (he printed the HK skyline in her bid and shoe sole).

We went there by night and while I was having a carrot juice and other people were enjoying a bbq, he was the only swimming. (about 900 meters)

Tomorrow Volvo Bonaqua Mui Wo to Pui O sprint race
