Macau: just an hour from Hong Kong.
Around Largo do Senado where most historic buildings concentrate
we were jealous of 9j and we booked the same hotel but a normal room
After the The Carnation Revolution in Portugal, the new left wing government tried to gave back Macau to China. The one time key place in the trade route between China and Europe was worthless and a pain in the neck for the Portuguese.
By that time a gamblers paradise ruled by organized crime was not an easy candy and China said no way. Finally a more creative approach from Beijing (Macau has surpassed Las Vegas in gambling revenue) ended with the MSAR Macau Special Administrative Region.
The first European settlement in China is now a big gambling machine with just a little more to offer you if you are not a Las Vegas fan. And despite Las Vegas a nice hotel is going you cost you real money.
We spent there a couple of days but we think that with five or six hours you’re done.
