In Japan, a relaxing week that I will enjoy.
I will keep you informed, but FB is mad about running at 5:00 am, Mother Bunny is very lazy and I prefer to “keep the moment” for the near future.

Ikebana - 生け花 ó いけばな and Cha-na-you - 茶の湯

This is really hard! I love Japanese culture, but, it´s taking a lot of time and effort to learn things properly. Of course, I do my best, as Father Bunny has promised me that all the Bunny Family will travel soon to Japan. But still you know that I don't like to work hard.
Well, let me explain for all the bunnies, what I have learnt. Ikebana ( 生け花 ó いけばな) that means “ to set up the flowers “ or “ to arrange the flowers “
My teacher told me that I had to go shopping and to bring all the stuff to the class. I bought the following things :
- One porcelain tray . I bought a black one, really, really, nice.
- One kenzan. This is a really dangerous thing. It is like a mattress full of needles and you can put the branches on the top.
- A few flowers and branches
The teacher explained to us that the oldest Ikebana´s school is called Ikenobô and it dates from the XVII century. However, she thought that it was much more appropriate for us to learn the Naguire School, which is specially aimed for the tea ceremonial.
Well, just imagine a small bunny like me at the class. First of all, I took the kenzan and one big flower. I cut the flower’s branch in order to be twice as long as the porcelain’s tray. I cut the flower’s branch inside a bowl full of water so as not to fill the branch with air. Once I had the right length, I stitched the branch on the Kenzan. The teacher suggested that I should look at the front side of the flower and then I should turn the flower a little bit to the side.
It took me half an hour just to set up the first flower. For the second one, I thought that it would be much easier and quicker. I take one flower, I cut it to the right length and I put it on the Kenzan. However, for the second flower I had to take into account a couple of extra things. First of all, the second flower should be half length of the first one. So, I had to measure it properly and cut the branch . Secondly, the shorter branch´s flower should be facing the largest branch´s flower.
How difficult it is !! I thought that Ikebana was only about to buy a couple of flowers and put them in a tray!!
I was about to finish , but, the teacher said to me :
"Miffa, look at your Ikebana. It looks a little poor !!"
You only have 2 flowers in the tray. You should now give a kind of movement to your Ikebana. So, she suggested to put on the Kenzan a couple of branches, which made nice curves. I took a couple of them and I put them on the Kenzan.
Once I was finished, I starred my small Ikebana. How nice !
Now, I deserve a couple of Japanaese tea !!
At that point, I was about to go home and relax, but, the teacher said to us that we had an extra class on that day. Uff !! This is really tyring. I am a small bunny used to enjoying life!!
Well, let´s see, what the second class is about. CHA NO YU ! (茶の湯)
Well, that should be easy for a chinese bunny. I prepare some boling water , I take a couple of tea spoons inside the hot water and that´s it.
Of course, things are not so easy when you go to class. The teacher took us to a tea house closed for our class. First of all, she explained us that the house had a small door. Well,, I thought that this was a “ bunny size door “ , but, she explained to us that the door is smaller, so that people bend themselves , when they go through the door.
She went to change clothes. She came back with a KIMONO. Then, she showed us, how the room should be set up for the tea ceremonial. A part called TOKOMONO had a paper hanging on the wall with nice relaxing words written on it . She said to us that we had to remember last week´s class “ SHÔDO “ and why SHÔDO was so important in Japan. Then, she showed to us a nice IKEBANA in the room . Then, she set up O-KÔ, incense for the tea ceremonial.
At that stage, she requested to all the bunnies to sit down on the TATAMI, while she was preparing the tea . She took a TÔGEI, a kind of bowl. She put hot water in it and then a couple of spoons full of green tea in powder.
She stirred the tea inside the bowl and she asked me to drink a little bit. So, I was going to grap the bowl and drink a little bit , when she said to me .
"No , Miffa, stop , stop!! "
"First of all, you should put the bowl on the Tatami mattress, look at your bunny next to you and tell her that you are going to be the first one to taste the tea, if they allow you so."
Then, you take the bowl and drink a little bit.
Wonderful taste !!
The teacher said to us at the very end that the tea ceremonial is about :
WA – HARMONY
KEI – RESPECT
SEI – PURENESS
JAKU – TRANQUILITY
Just before finishing the class, she said to us : “ ICHI – GO- ICHI –E “

note: we can't take pictures in our class so I have searched for some in wikipedia.

My lemon tree
On the top of that, I am very jeaulous of Caffemiffy´s garden. We go to the supermarket to buy lettuce, despite having our own “farm – made “ lettuce. Father Bunny encoured me to start our own garden at home with the helo of my farmer sister.
Ok, ok, I told Father Bunny that I would really consider the idea. Again, a lot of work to be done. First of all, choose the right place at home for our garden, then buy a pot and earth to fill it.
As I live in Spain, a country with a lot of sun, I decided to have a garden with “ fruit trees “ . And the first one would be a lemon tree.
It has taken me a few weeks to set up everything properly, water the tree and finally I got 2 lemons!!

SHODÔ

My father insists on the fact that I should go on studying Japanese as well as learning properly to write Japanese. He decided to send me to an extra lesson in order to practice “ Shodô “
The teacher made me sit down for a couple of hours and she explained me, how to grap properly the brush. She said to me that I should keep two fingers on the front part of the brush and two on the back side. It´s not easy, though it doesn’t look so difficult. Then, she told me not to move my wrist. My wrist and my arm should behave as one single piece.
That was the first step and it was not easy at all. Then , she gave me a few brushes. One made of horse’s hair, a huge one. I told her that it was too heavy for me . I am a little bunny ! Then, she gave me a brush made of sheep´s hair, much easier to use. And finally, she gave me a brush made of “hare’s “ hair . What ? I said . A “ bunny hair ´s brush “ My god ! You mean that someone at the class could be trying to pull my hair out of my ears or my back in order to build a brush. That really scared me . The teacher explained to me that the “ bunny/hare brush “ is used for small traces.
Once we had clarify the situation with the brushes, the finger positioning as well as the hand, wrist and arm, she showed me 3 different styles : Kaisho, Gyosho and Sosho
Oh, oh, this is getting difficult !!
Well, I´ll try to study hard, as I want Father Bunny to take me back to Japan !!
Thanks for reading my “ hard time “ studying
Domo – Arigato – Gozaimasu !!

WATASHI WA MIFFA DESU
As you know, I love to travel and and I like a lot Japan. I asked my father to pay me a ticket to Tokyo, as I would like to spend a few days at the Mandarin Oriental, go shopping at Ginza and Omotesando, well, you know, all those things that a bunny like me loves doingHowever, father bunny is really upset with me . He said that I am used to doing nothing, just travelling, having fun , and that i have some bad vices like smoking and drinking while playing cards cheating my sisters and friends to get their money… I asked him where is the problem. All these things are fun and I am a spoiled bunny.
One day, father bunny came back home and he said to me that I am going to start Japanese lessons. What, I said ?? I don´t want to work , I don’t want to study ! I just want to have fun.
Father bunny replied : “ You will not go back to Japan , if you do not learn a little bit Japanese , your sister Miffo can help you . If you want to visit your friends from Café Miffy, you have to master a few words in Japanese “
So, here I am with my “ hawaian “ shirt at home studying Japanese. Thanks god, I don´t need to learn the Kanji, as I master Chinese ! But, I´ll still have to memorize the hiragana and katakana alphabet.
Well, here my first steps :
Watashi wa sushi o tabemasu !
Oyasuminasai ( I am too tired and I asked father bunny, if I can go to bed )
Mataraishuu !!

Fernando's at Macau
One of the most popular restaurants in Macau is Fernando’s. Simple but good Portuguese food at affordable prices in Coloane (about half an hour taxi ride from Macau center). No credits cards, no reservation and no air conditioning are on the other side but the atmosphere is unique, with home made bread and a quite good Portuguese wine cellar.
We had the Codfish but I would recommend the roasted piglet or the “gallina” (chicken).

Macau: just an hour from Hong Kong.
Around Largo do Senado where most historic buildings concentrate
we were jealous of 9j and we booked the same hotel but a normal room
After the The Carnation Revolution in Portugal, the new left wing government tried to gave back Macau to China. The one time key place in the trade route between China and Europe was worthless and a pain in the neck for the Portuguese.
By that time a gamblers paradise ruled by organized crime was not an easy candy and China said no way. Finally a more creative approach from Beijing (Macau has surpassed Las Vegas in gambling revenue) ended with the MSAR Macau Special Administrative Region.
The first European settlement in China is now a big gambling machine with just a little more to offer you if you are not a Las Vegas fan. And despite Las Vegas a nice hotel is going you cost you real money.
We spent there a couple of days but we think that with five or six hours you’re done.

Volvo Bonaqua Sprint Run - La Cagamos (Castellano)
Me preguntaba.
Volvo Bonaqua Sprint Run - Failed Mission (English)

The day before I spent more than three hours drawing the race path till the 8th kilometre and downloading a DEM (Digital Elevation Model) to figure up what the profile was.
Now I am writing this review because I don’t want to forget about the experience. Even after the marathon my face was better and my gesture showed less suffering than today.
Of course I have done several mistakes the first one was not to take some water or isotonic drink for the first eight km. 26 to 29 Celsius and 98 % humidity running in a tropical (or may sub tropical forest) is not what we found in our Parc Güel. Another one was starting the run at a moderate pace (3:40 minutes a kilometre) that put me in the middle of nowhere. I thought that people wanted to commit self suicide but there were fighting to arrive to the first kilometre mark the sooner as possible. And there was a good reason to do so. A narrow path, sometimes just enough for one person makes quite difficult to overpass.

From approximately 1.6 to 2.5 the path was climbing up to the top but I was able to run at a modest but constant pace, but from the 4 to the 4.8 my legs were totally burnt out by the ladders that appeared in that section. Unable to run and blocked by some runners I got to the top (about 260 meters) totally exhausted.
The descent was not better, with my legs aching and full of lactic acid I started a suicide downhill section from 5 to 7.5. Passing people out of the track and having some severe warning with some stones that were in the mood to break my ankles. Finally about the 6th we arrived to a “normal road” and I was able to maintain a pace of about 4:45 minutes a kilometre (enough to pass quite a few people).
We have to cross some water to get into the Pui O beach and about 700 meters running on the beach (with my shoes full of water and sand, excellent). I hate running on the beach and I try to imitate the more experienced people, so I moved to the wet side and crossed the first check point in the top 10 or top 15 according to a friend who was there taking pictures.
The winner made 48 minutes and I made an impressive 52. Not bad. There were only 4 kilometers left.
Damn it!. Now we have about 700 meters of running / walking on the cliffs, jumping from one slippery rock to another one. This is something that I did not count on.
Ok, that’s not my best but I can manager. I try to find the path and I felt down into the sea. No problem but my right knee took the hit and is wounded by the small mussels that gave me quite a deeper cut. The cliffs ended, but now we have to run over a rounded rocks beach – I say no way, I must keep my ankles for more heroic battles-
The incident, my poor attitude to run over that rounded rocks beach made that most of the people who was behind passed me on that section.
Finally the river loop was one kilometre uphill following a river with big slippery rocks, some climbing sections and even a rope ladder. The first 700 meters I even got to pass some people but every step has to be measured carefully, my knee is bleeding and you have to use your arms and hands to secure yourself and to find the better way. (Thank good I bought that gloves)
About four five people overtook me on the last 300 metres but a short road section of about 200 meter were enough to pass two of them.
Again a suicide downhill section when I was able to maintain my position but…
The same damn rounded rocks beach and cliff section. I decided to walk, I was too tired just to think and to look where my feet were landing and I wanted no more wounds.
I finish the race exhausted but above all with the feeling that I have failed my mission, with an angry daughter bunny who saw me on the top positions on the 8th and that finally was deceived when I plunged on the ranking.
I did my best, I was more tired than ever and I suffered quite a lot, but I did not expect that and, of course, I was not trained for that.
I decided to catch a taxi and go to visit the Giant Buddha so I missed the finish party. Well I am not a very social person and besides I was quite sad.

Stanley & Repulse Bay
Last time, almost one year ago we went to Lamma Island but unfortunately we had no time to visit two places that we missed in all our previous visits because lack of time and bad weather.
Surprisingly today it was sunny and we decided to visit Stanley and in our way back to HK Island Repulse Bay.
We will write more about these two places with beautiful beaches and tracks to walk along.

Island Shangri-La pool and Father Bunny
Well, I have the feeling that lately Father Bunny is obsessed with running, cycling and swimming. This is surely because of bad companions.
But for this time I will like to thank them because from the 28 meters long swimming pool my favourite building – The Bank of China- view is just fantastic.
May be Father Bunny wants to thank the building for the good luck it gave to him in the Marathon (he printed the HK skyline in her bid and shoe sole).
We went there by night and while I was having a carrot juice and other people were enjoying a bbq, he was the only swimming. (about 900 meters)
Tomorrow Volvo Bonaqua Mui Wo to Pui O sprint race.

Miffo having lunch in a Bavarian style restaurant.
Not exactly a nice day in HKLot of luggage, as usual and a nice room where at least the internet is free, as well as the minibar, the laundry and some other items.
Right now I am thinking about resting for a while.

More about Milano: Via Montenapoleone.
You surely thought that having a new brother will change my mood, but you missed the point.I am more demanding, more spoiled, and more impertinent than ever before.
And in Milano I really wanted to drive my Miffa’s Orange GT3, a car that surely will blast any stupid Italian car.
“You look nice in your wanna be sport car, Mr. Evaseé” but our German hammer will surely make some scratchs on your car.

We have run the Barcelona’s Marathon.
Father Bunny complexion is not the best one for long distance running and besides the amount of training to finish a Marathon in good shape is quite important.
During all this time he has been training and racing, sometimes with Draculina who often helped him to maintain the right pace, but his new friends from correCATagafo (experienced runners and tri-athletes) has played a vital role in his achievements.
I wanted to share his success with him and I waited for him in the last kilometre to enter together in 3 hours and 17 seconds. Quite a great mark for an old guy that surprisingly did not encounter The Wall and arrived in quite a decent shape.

Rbt – Rabbit- The Restaurant
Unfortunately, I was so young that I had no writing skills and my Father is such an idiot that he forgot to write down the name.
But after extensive and intensive research we founded their website * and we manage to be there several years after our first attempt.
May be I am going to disappoint my friend 9J, but they have a great corporate image for bunny lovers but quite a disappointing offer for humans. Besides their name stand for REAL BREWED TEA, and they're from Taiwan.

Finally we went to Madrid using AVE (High speed train)

Several months after the official first travel and several years after the planned one, finally me and Miffo were able to travel in what we call the “Spanish Shinkansen”
Mother bunny travels often using the AVE, but she is so busy that forgets about her little children as often.
Finally Father Bunny was travelling to Madrid and we convinced him to take the AVE and to pay slightly more (well almost three times the price of a plane ticket) to buy Business tickets for us. Actually we discover that there’s still a higher class called “CLUB”
In another post, my impressions about the travel.

In the Chinese city. Perspectives on the transmutations of an Empire
Too many travels, too many parties, a little bit too much of excesses for a – no so little- bunny girl.
This past Sunday I decided to imitate my good friend Anita and after running 21 kilometres and 975 meters (Barcelona half marathon) we went to the CCCB. The exhibition was about the changes that have occurred through the time in China’s big cities.
Well, It was quite interesting but Miffa was sleeping most of the time arguing about the boring movies that new Chinese directors made to tribute five important cities.

My father abuses me, and forces me to work.
This is me on a plane, while taking notes for the new Ref/SN articleHe tried to write by herself, but he failed to imitate my acid, corrosive way to express how the human world is insane.
Our latest fight was writing about Patek Philippe’s watches. How the hell can I write about that without buying one????
Thank god he is poor and his credit card has a lame limit that only was enough for a one hour rent. I will talk with the Ref/SN blog's editor...

Hey, I start a new job as a professional blogger
www.refsn.com
Despite being written in Spanish the site and the articles have enough visual power to transmit the essence of the matter. In other words, no words are needed in most cases.
Unfortunately there are some stupid rules – one is being a human to participate- and my father is the one who is credited and paid a huge amount of money for just copy and paste my work, or even worse, to write about my experiences and big knowledge as a Bunny sybarite and great connoisseur.

Kung Hei Fat Choy - 新年快樂
I was born in the year of the Monkey, my father on the Rat’s and we celebrated the Golden Pig with a nice present that “should” bring us fortune and money.
Unfortunately for me, Miffu and now Aurore, Chinese New Year is not very popular in Spain. In a big city like Barcelona there’s not an “official” celebration and even Chinese restaurant do not change their menus on this date.
Fortunately for us, we are ex-pats from Hong Kong but we have very good friends there: The 9j Clan.
They have sent us a complete set of goodies to let us feel like at home. A Mandarin orange tree (tangerine / 柑) , (our preferred Hotel and fruit that match our caps’ colours), several decoration papers with goodwill and fortune words on it, firecrackers (some special ones) and a lot of goodies that made us very happy.
But the party have just started now…

Mochitsuki Taikai (もちつき大会)

Our friends from wifiblanes.com love Japanese culture and a friend of them knows well the Japanese community in Barcelona.
The event is organized by SUIYOKAI (An organization that joins most of the Japanese companies that are operating in Spain) and has the support of the Japanese Consulate in Barcelona.
Many people dressed especially for the event and of course I did. As you know my sister Miffo was living in Japan for several months and she has great knowledge about Japanese Culture and Traditions. Unfortunately me and my parents are not so brilliant and sometimes we make big mistakes because of our ignorance.
Anyways we have a GREAT time there. We miss our time in Japan badly, and we are willing to return there shortly and to visit our friends from Cafemiffy.

Miffa is four and Miffu three years old.

It looks like if it was yesterday when, in my first visit to one of the nicest cities I have been, I saw her face in a Fortress store. Immediately I knew that I won’t depart from Hong Kong without her.
Now four years after that I feel sorry about not have being able to travel to her home city this year. Soon we will be there with her sister Miffu – who doesn’t like to appear a lot in this blog- and Aurore Marie – Miffa’s twin sister that joined her after and extensive research made by Miffa and the best private eye Bunny from HK (9J)
We missed our friends Chairoko and Kiiroko as well as Nijntje, but this time I decided to buy a nice cake to avoid criticism about my home made one.
