What I have done in 2013 - Part 1

2013 has been one of this years you will like to forget, and as all the things you don't enjoy it has proven extremely long, despite it had 365 days as all the normal years.

I spent my last 2012 days in Japan and so i did with my first 2013 ones celebrating that my father got his senior citizen status.

We usually fly from The Netherlands and so we pay a respectful visit to
Old Grandma at Schipol airport, where she stills make good sales

After some terrible journey - this if flying today with KLM / Air France -
we took the Limo bus and we arrive to OUR hotel in Tokyo.
I don't know why but my father fell in love with Shiodome and Park Hotel
and we have been regular guest since our second visit to Tokyo

I cannot complaint about the views from our room

Ironically Tokyo Tower has not been in our favorite's list but after six months
we spent some time there when 2013 showed his nasty face

Our first day in Tokyo was for visiting its famous Asakusa Shrine

This was taken in Kiddyland - a famous toy store in Tokyo's center -

Something was telling me that 2013 will be a year devoted to 4 wheels...

But, of course, we had the opportunity to try some nice food, even FB and
me tried Tsujiki market famous sushi thanks to our friends from Cafemiffy

My father got some interest sin road bikes

And I was invited to the new A380 cabin

At home? well, not really.

This Christmas we were in Yokohama, but weather was far from nice and we decided to postpone one of our planned visits to the Tokyo's bay area: Yokohama's Chinese Town.

Anpanman's museum

We visited Anpanman museum in Yokohama, it was a very rainy day and Yokohama is not so close to Tokyo as you will expect. But we had a great time!!!

Now some wikipedia about him that can be found here

Anpanman (アンパンマン?) is a Japanese picture book series written by Takashi Yanase since 1973. It was   inspired by Yanase's struggles to survive as a soldier in World War II. Many times, he became faced with the prospect of starvation, which made him dream about eating anpan (a bean-jam filled pastry).

Miffa, Tometaro and Cafemiffy

We have been in Chiba prefecture, that is close to Narita airport. Our friends, Cafemiffy, has brought us to a traditional and very special Soba restaurant.

As you know Soba is Japanese noodle that is made from buckwheat (trigo sarraceno).

We had Soba Soshu (liquor) and a lot of delicatessen, including the best Tempura, we have ever had.

Sunny Midsummer day at Buckinghamshire

After our summer holidays in Thailand - where cars have no heaters, just air conditioning - we arrived to Barcelona.

There, surprisingly, temperature was even higher than in Koh Samui!! Tired from a long plane travel from Bangkok to Helsinki and from there to Barcelona we unpacked all our stuff and specially all the nice presents our Cafemiffy made to us.

I was especially lucky, because my friends brought me this beautiful and adorable small white rabbit.

He wanted to go around Barcelona, but rabbits (specially white ones) don’t like beaches and sun.

A few days ago we took a plane again and now we are in United Kingdom enjoying a mix of rain & sun that people of this area (around 100 km North of London) call “Midsummer”.

We are in a beautiful red brick two stories typical house with a nice garden, so what could be better than some afternoon picnic?

Ko Samui (เกาะสมุย) adventures part 1.

If you are coming here, you will probably fly from Bangkok, but there're cheap flights from Hong Kong and Singapore too.

It's a nice island, less crowded than Phuket and therefore a better option IMMO. Unfortunately they overdo setting prices to taxis rides (rip-off warning) and leisure activities.

If you want to ride an elephant, do it around bangkok, if you wan to dive, go to Maldives, if you want to sail, do it at home. But if you want to pay two or three times the prices you will pay at home (assuming Europe, USA, Australia or Japan) this is the place for you. Last, do not expect service and safety standards like at home.

Na Muang two waterfall is about 80 meters high
and "can only be reached by a 30 minute walk"
so large pickups tuned like moon rangers are waiting you
and for 100 BHT will take you there.
But I use Father Bunny shoulder and did it in 7 minutes!!

Bhoput beach has a "so called" fisherman's village, that
is just an open market where they try to sell you the same
good you can buy everywhere for one third of the amount.
A bar in Bhoput beach, there are a lot ranging from
nice intimate places to loud pseudo Irish Pubs
Sunset on the beach, It happens around 18:30 and they
will try to sell you "sunset experience" in a boat for 1200 BHT
and up with watered margaritas and badly mixed mojitos.
Buy them in Seven Eleven, go to the deck and that's it!

Six Senses Hotel, an eco friendly resort located in Samui's
northeastern point. May be the nicest, of course the most
expensive. The only problem you're their hostage and
you need to pay minimun 500 BHT to get out of that paradise

Melati resort, close to Six Senses, same problem
if you want to visit your Seven Eleven or Family Mart
expect to walk 2 kilometers one way or to pay 400 BHT

Just a nice picture, no warning.
Lobster and shellfish basket on the beach, It's not cheap,
it's not the best we have had, but it's ok.
Chaweng beach close
to Sareeraya hotel

This is me with Nijntje (Cafemify) from Japan
who came to explore Samui with  me

A great gift from Tokyo has arrived

Great gifts from our friend Cafemiffy arrived to our country, just two weeks after our return. We spent a great time with them there and we are waiting for their next visit to Barcelona.

Actually the parcel arrived almost three weeks from now, but Father Bunny to improve security in our home LAN trashed the device and the hard drive of his laptop. Thank good I made a back up, if not all the pictures from our trip would have been lost.

Thanks a lot Cafemiffy!!!

Our friends from Cafemiffy were there too to help us in the logistics and to give us support, our succes is a result of their help and dedication.

A big gift from Japan arrived

As you can read in the wikipedia “In Spain there is a long tradition for having the children receive their Christmas presents by the three "Magos", (the figure of Santa Claus only appeared in recent years) during the night of January 5th (Biblical Magi Eve).”

This year the Three Kings from the East have travelled further than ever as they came from the far East (Japan).

Our Friends from Cafemiffy wrote the letter for us and they have brought us a big bunch of delicatessen: the best sake and Umeshu, the finest limited edition beers, green tea, Japanese crackers, excellent Japanese food and two very nice shirts for me and Father Bunny.

And, taking into consideration the latest low temperatures a nice and soft scarf and a pair of gloves for my walks.

Thank you very much Cafemiffy Kings!

Great gifts are coming from Japan

Today we have opened a really big parcel, full of gifts from our Cafemiffy friends. The postman left the parcel to our concierge and by mistake the parcel was sitting in his office for almost a week.

Japanese curry, excellent sake and a marvellous jar for serving and cooling the sake.

A million thanks, Cafemiffy!!!

In Japan, a relaxing week that I will enjoy.

Feeding deers in Nara with my Cafemiffy friends

You know I loved Japan, you know I have great bunny friends here, you know I am studying Japanese culture, so there’s no surprise in visiting this nice country again. Tokyo, Kyoto and Nara, in a relaxed way, with no hurry, just enjoying every minute and every bite of the time I spend here. This is how I like and the best way to discover Japan.

I will keep you informed, but FB is mad about running at 5:00 am, Mother Bunny is very lazy and I prefer to “keep the moment” for the near future.

SHODÔ

My father insists on the fact that I should go on studying Japanese as well as learning properly to write Japanese. He decided to send me to an extra lesson in order to practice “ Shodô “

The teacher made me sit down for a couple of hours and she explained me, how to grap properly the brush. She said to me that I should keep two fingers on the front part of the brush and two on the back side. It´s not easy, though it doesn’t look so difficult. Then, she told me not to move my wrist. My wrist and my arm should behave as one single piece.

That was the first step and it was not easy at all. Then , she gave me a few brushes. One made of horse’s hair, a huge one. I told her that it was too heavy for me . I am a little bunny ! Then, she gave me a brush made of sheep´s hair, much easier to use. And finally, she gave me a brush made of “hare’s “ hair . What ? I said . A “ bunny hair ´s brush “ My god ! You mean that someone at the class could be trying to pull my hair out of my ears or my back in order to build a brush. That really scared me . The teacher explained to me that the “ bunny/hare brush “ is used for small traces.

Once we had clarify the situation with the brushes, the finger positioning as well as the hand, wrist and arm, she showed me 3 different styles : Kaisho, Gyosho and Sosho

Oh, oh, this is getting difficult !!

Well, I´ll try to study hard, as I want Father Bunny to take me back to Japan !!

Thanks for reading my “ hard time “ studying

Domo – Arigato – Gozaimasu !!

Bunny style with no (little) compromises

Unfortunately FB’s formal business meeting this second quarter has been zero. But his brother will get married in a couple of weeks and he has been testing different suits for the wedding.

And finally he has put on the great tie our friends from Cafemiffy send us as a gift. It’s a great tie that surely no one owns here in Europe.

Thanks again!

The Supreme Council meeting in Switzerland

By our special reporter Miffu Chan

As you may imagine a secret meeting has a secret agenda. Nevertheless this fact an official note has been released and some “notable assistants” has filtered some news to us.

The meeting took place finally in Maienfeld – were Heidi’s house is located-

As you know this meeting’s agenda changed when Miffa expressed her desire to submit her twin sister candidature to The Council. Apart from this unexpected event the members discussed about general guidelines for the next quarter and general forecasting for the same period.

Ninjtje from Japan – the older member of the council – was confirmed as President of The Council for the next two years period.

Chairoko and Kiiroko from Japan are joining The Council as senior members while Pipi is joining as a Trainee member. Miffo joins too as senior member.

9J – that was unable to attend the meeting due to some red tape problems – is promoted to senior member and she will be responsible for all the operations of The Council in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Council wants to show its greatest consideration to 9j, who has demonstrated outstanding abilities to promote The Council activities around the world. She is awarded the “Golden Hare “ award for these merits.

Miffa is confirmed as the Chairman of The Council and General Manager Europe and the rest of the world excluding Asia. The members expressed their worries about Miffa concentrating such a big territory and a General Manager America position will be a priority for next quarter. The Council expressed its worries about some “late affairs” that Miffa has been involved into and her “Orange Cap Sect” activities that were not explained to The Council to the full extent expected.

Despite her linage and experience Miffa’s sister will need to complete the habitual induction program to join The Council as a junior member. This fact is considered as a punishment for Miffa’s Orange Cap Sect activities.

The next meeting will be held in Asia in an undetermined date, but The Council urged Miffa to organize an intermediate local meeting with 9j to further development and alignment between the West and East strategies.

Dan has arrived

After an exhilarating journey Dan has arrived from Japan. A noble Japanese family – The Cafemiffy clan- gave us the opportunity and the honours to train his body and soul for some time.

The induction was very formal. Miffa used her Samurai outfit and her sword while Miffo acted as the secretary of the council. Draculina and Draco were present too.

Dan swore loyalty to the Chan clan and Miffa – who overacted a little bit- nominated him as new knight of the clan.

Miffo and FB were too excited to cook sushi, so we ordered a nice Japanese meal from one of the best Japanese restaurants (The bill is still in FB’s mind). We had Sapporo beer and Sake and a nice headache today…

But What Doesn't Kill You Only Makes You Stronger.

Miffo’s Sushi Bar

Miffo is a certified Japanese cooker. After one year in Tokyo (Japan) she was able to enter into Cafemiffy’s. They taught her a lot of basic techniques and some advanced ones. Miffo’s patience and dedication made her to achieve a great knowledge of basic Japanese cooking.

Today under Miffo’s strict supervision we made some Maki Sushi. (with the best ingredients you can expect – provided by Cafemiffy-)

Still some room to improve. But the overall experience has been superb.
