Miffo's trip to Japan

This Tuesday my sister Miffo and my friends Pau and Laia (From Sabadell) have taken a UPS plane from Barcelona to Tokyo.

Past Sunday we did a big party, we set up everything and we built a special capsule to accommodate both of them. Father Bunny and me did a selection of Spanish food that we placed in the same capsule.

The trip will take about three days and Miffo will stay there until summer with her Japanese family. There she will learn a little bit of Japanese and will share a lot of experiences with her new bunny brothers and sisters. And they are quite a few.

Our friends from Cafemiffy master several cuisines from the east and they will introduce exquisite and secret recipes to Miffo.

Pau and Laila are entrepreneurs who will start a new life in Japan. They will attend there to school and after that their plans is to open a chain of Catalonian restaurants.

As many of you know Miffo spent almost nine months in Tokyo at Cafemiffy’s. There she discovered about Japanese culture and she cultivated her great hobby: cooking.

Now Miffa’s restaurant has three Chief Cookers - Me, Miffo and Laia – who master Cantonese, Japanese and Mediterranean cuisines respectively.

Past February during four consecutive weekends we showed our abilities with help from some guest cookers from China and Catalonia. Finally we have convinced Father Bunny (who helps us in the kitchen every time) , and we will start a three posts series with pictures and recipes we cooked.

We will include a video edited by ourselves using professional editing software (it was bundled with the video camera we bought in Tokyo past Eastern) and finally our lazy dad had time to read and install it.

Miffo is a certified Japanese cooker. After one year in Tokyo (Japan) she was able to enter into Cafemiffy’s. They taught her a lot of basic techniques and some advanced ones. Miffo’s patience and dedication made her to achieve a great knowledge of basic Japanese cooking.

Today under Miffo’s strict supervision we made some Maki Sushi. (with the best ingredients you can expect – provided by Cafemiffy-)



Still some room to improve. But the overall experience has been superb.

My bunny daughter is very sad, we all are sad indeed. After several months living with us in Barcelona and travelling around with Miffa and her sisters and friends it’s time to go.

Chairoko and Kiiroko parents came to Barcelona together with Miffo and Nijntje. We have spent a great time and we have managed to do a lot of things and to travel to quite places. For a more detailed info about our Christmas adventures with our friends from Cafemiffy I would suggest you to buy a nice “How to learn Japanese” book – if you don’t know this language- and visit their blogsite.

Miffo has travelled a lot to, She is especially happy because she has been able to visit the West coast (San Francisco), has learnt to cook some Japanese dishes, has bought new clothes and even she made a tailor made suit.

In the way back home both Miffa and Miffo did not say a word but during the afternoon while Miffa showed Miffo their new room their mood was slightly better.

Past 12th Father Bunny and Miffo went to Madrid. That was Miffo’s first time at the new T4 terminal that we visited with Chairoko and Kiiroko a year ago.

Today me and Miffo have taken a plane and we will be there for four days in a Spa resort while Father Bunny is working at Ifema.

Tonight we went to one of my father’s favourite restaurants: Goizeko Wellington.

Of course Miffo wasn't in danger at all, but she insisted in checking our Emergency Procedure (EP) and FB's ability to make front to such dangers.

If you want to learn German you’d better go there, if you want to master paella you’d definitely need to get a Spanish cooker as teacher.

I am from Hong Kong and I have some knowledge about Cantonese cuisine, but if you have a father like me that really take care of all the mess that involves cooking will you cook as a regular basis?

No.

Me and all my family do love Japanese cuisine and so our friends from Blanes do. And to avoid unexpected results Father Bunny and me decided that the best thing it will be to travel to Tokyo and immerse into Japan’s cooking culture under the guidance of a Japanese master.

So we did, and our friends from caffemiffy will host Miffo (my younger sister) and Pau. He is a little bunny born in Sabadell – Spain- whose Catalan name means Paul but also Peace.

Miffo will stay there till summer but Pau will remain in Tokyo with his new family. They will cook, travel, play with other bunnies, and enjoy the city and their attractions…

On the other hand Chairoko and Kiiroko will be in our home and I will take care of them. It’s a perfect excuse to visit all these Barcelona places that I do not know and to show them a lot of things.

Mother Bunny wanted me to go, but Father Bunny begged me not to go. He loves me a lot and both he and me know that three months will be unbearable for us.

Anyways I plan to be in Tokyo in eastern so Miffo and Pau won’t be alone.

Ramiro is cooking – volume 1

You know my Father and specially Miffo are excellent cookers (well this is something that applies to Miffo only).

In the past I used to have a luxury restaurant where we mixed the best from the East and the West but this damn crisis has ruined my – quite expensive restaurant- and I have been forced to convert it in an inexpensive closed menu restaurant that offers traditional Spanish dishes.

Do no tell anyone but we refill the wine bottles and other things that you always suspected but never think restaurants did.

We were in Christchurch and Miffo wanted to take a picture of a sheep. After all in NZ there are more than 40 millions (far from the 80 millions there were a years ago). Incredible but that is the same that saying every New Zealander has 10.

Miffo was talking with Nickie – a nice little sheep that has the wish to travel the world – and she convinced her to come to Barcelona.

After my adventures in China that I will share with you in a Bunny Visitors Guide to this country I visited Japan. I spent five days in Tokyo, surely not enough to taste major places of this frenetic and cool city but enough to discover a wonderful city that will be explored and conquered by Miffa.

Close to the Imperial Palace and the CBD district of Ginza we were hosted in the wonderful Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Since there we explored several Tokyo districts around the center and some more distant ones. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and rhythm of Tokyo and its people but the best it happened on Saturday 14th.

As planned I met my Cafemiffy friends from Tokyo. They invited us to the oldest restaurant in Tokyo where we had traditional Japanese Sukiyaki.

I met again with Miffo, Pau and Laia that are delighted with their Japanese family. They are very nice and gave me a lot of kisses and hugs. I also met Nijntje who was born in Holland and like has traveled to many places with her bunny parents.

Now let's go for the second course.

As Miffa has told you sometimes we are in Barcelona and her sister Miffo is in our house in Tokyo. We don’t meet Miffo, we were flying from Japan and she was flying from Spain at the same time. But Miffa went to Tokyo and she met some of my sister and my parents.

They gave a lot of Japanese food as a gift for them. We love to cook and we have learnt a lot of recipes from our Parents. Unfortunately Miffa is not a good Japanese cooker and neither they are good on it.

On the other hand Miffa’s parents know quite a few Spanish dishes, Miffa has her own restaurant with her sister Miffu and Father Bunny.

After some days training hard with Miffa, she opened her restaurant again and we did a special menu for Mother Bunny. In this link you will find a pdf document with the menu. We actually think that Miffa charged her mother a lot for the menu but Miffu told us that previously the bills were even higher.

We prepared a Japanese miso soup, to which we added our secret ingredients. Then we had some shellfish (Oysters and big shrimps).

- We didn’t find complicate to prepare seafood.

We asked Miffa where the difficult thing was on doing it.

- The great amount of experience that you need to select the good stuff in the market

She replied

May be she is right but we think that she was pulling our leg.

The same shows, the same faces...

Last summer I wrote how tired it was to watch the same faces, the same brands and the same shows in every edition. I know that people go there to take a look on new collections and to have a good time. About the first one this is my Father’s and some of his friends’ problem. About the second fact I think they should improve the “power to surprise” if they want to keep his avant-garde halo.

As usual graphic design and brand identity was nice, past edition the motto was “flying” and this winter “smoking”. Yeah, but do not think about smoking Ducados (Now under the Imperial Tobacco orbit), not even Fortuna…

Just some funny ultra light cigarettes just for fashionist people with plenty of gold colour on the packet.

This edition Father Bunny received a letter from Germany and the B&B people invited him!!! Can you believe it?

That was another good reason for staying at home. If B&B invited my father after the “embarrassing events” that took place in the summer edition with Mr. Evasee, Mr. GOLDKRICH, Mr. Cyteck and Mr. Musik one must ask herself if that place is for fashion and business people or just for wild party animals as them.

Anyways I sent Miffo to cover the trade fair together with Father Bunny, Mother Bunny and last day with the pro photographer Mr. John Barney.

Eastern Holidays at home.

Past eastern we visited Japan for the first time and we discovered our favourite city – Tokyo- this eastern in exchange we have had no vacations and we have been at home.

It had been really hard because we planned to go sailing two days but strong winds and heavy rain from the North could made it a very unpleasant experience.

Anyways we will go to Hong Kong in less than a month. Yes!!! We will fly directly this time from BCN to HKG (via CDG that tells u no one is perfect) and I will be able to take Miffo and some of my sisters to my hometown. That’s great.

I said that Tokyo is my favourite city, but home is home so I dying to come back to my Hotel. To celebrate it Miffo cooked “Soba” for us and her delicious Miso Soup.

Note from Father bunny: Miffa doesn’t admit it but she prefers Tokyo right now. ;)

Dan has arrived

After an exhilarating journey Dan has arrived from Japan. A noble Japanese family – The Cafemiffy clan- gave us the opportunity and the honours to train his body and soul for some time.

The induction was very formal. Miffa used her Samurai outfit and her sword while Miffo acted as the secretary of the council. Draculina and Draco were present too.

Dan swore loyalty to the Chan clan and Miffa – who overacted a little bit- nominated him as new knight of the clan.

Miffo and FB were too excited to cook sushi, so we ordered a nice Japanese meal from one of the best Japanese restaurants (The bill is still in FB’s mind). We had Sapporo beer and Sake and a nice headache today…

But What Doesn't Kill You Only Makes You Stronger.

Still here, now enjoying the sun and visiting hidden places with Miffo. Too much party is ok, but Miffo has put some focus in the main objective of our travel: relax.

Visiting the markets (where you mostly will find crap) and going to desert beaches (where you will need to fight seriously for a centimetre) is Ibiza’s way of life too.

A bunny under stress!

Chairoko and Kiiroko left our home this Christmas, Miffo came back from Tokyo; we visited some cities in Holland and Belgium – Miffo and me – We were in Miffy’s store in Amsterdam. We buy some nice clogs, we visited one of the coolest fashion shows in Europe – Bread & Butter- we went to Custo Barcelona’s party as VIPS…

Too much stress… I need some extra time.

Sometimes life and events repeat as if they were following a secret tempo, sometimes we experience or we live something that we have lived previously.

Scientist and researches, in fact a French gentleman whose name was Émile Boirac called it Déjà vu. Furthermore now we know that there are different types of Déjà vu.
(Déjà vécu, Déjà senti and Déjà visité).

Repetition and cycles are very common in nature, economical cycles, climatic cycles…There are a lot of cyclical phenomena in our universe. Actually a cycle has a starting point and an ending one. You must close the loop to properly talk about a perfect cycle.

And today a very particular cycle ends. Sometime ago, exactly when spring started last year Chairoko and Kiiroko arrived from Japan and Father Bunny picked up them. That day Father Bunny had a business dinner at Carme Ruscalleda’s restaurant and he took them with him. They met Carme, they met a Japanease cooker who works there and they enjoyed one of their first pictures in Spain with Carme.

Today we have gone again there to close the loop, tomorrow they will go back to Japan and Miffo will stay here in our new house after being in Japan for several months.

I will miss my friends a lot, but my sister Miffo has returned. Should I be sad or happy?
It’s very difficult to say it. Meanwhile I will try to taste Carme’s dishes. After all this is my first time and I’am sure I am the first one to taste the new winter menu.

Miffespresso, what else?

Today I’ve got up early and the morning and I’ve prepared a nice breakfast for my sisters and myself. Here you can see Miffo having decaffeinated coffe in her mug.

Ok, I admit I would have preferred going with Father Bunny to a Starbucks and being there on a big sofa reading car magazines and sipping an expensive coffe that everyday is done with less care by its employees.

In the other hand in a premium location - Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona - an old cinema has been converted in a huge Nespresso boutique who attracts thousand of people every day, many of them tourist. They say it is the biggest in the world. Check it here if you are an interior design freak. There you can read all the stupid things the designers explained and explain to justify the incredible sum of money they robbed.

Finally we went to Madrid using AVE (High speed train)

Several months after the official first travel and several years after the planned one, finally me and Miffo were able to travel in what we call the “Spanish Shinkansen”

Mother bunny travels often using the AVE, but she is so busy that forgets about her little children as often.

Finally Father Bunny was travelling to Madrid and we convinced him to take the AVE and to pay slightly more (well almost three times the price of a plane ticket) to buy Business tickets for us. Actually we discover that there’s still a higher class called “CLUB”

The Supreme Council meeting in Switzerland

As you may imagine a secret meeting has a secret agenda. Nevertheless this fact an official note has been released and some “notable assistants” has filtered some news to us.

The meeting took place finally in Maienfeld – were Heidi’s house is located-

As you know this meeting’s agenda changed when Miffa expressed her desire to submit her twin sister candidature to The Council. Apart from this unexpected event the members discussed about general guidelines for the next quarter and general forecasting for the same period.

Ninjtje from Japan – the older member of the council – was confirmed as President of The Council for the next two years period.

Chairoko and Kiiroko from Japan are joining The Council as senior members while Pipi is joining as a Trainee member. Miffo joins too as senior member.

9J – that was unable to attend the meeting due to some red tape problems – is promoted to senior member and she will be responsible for all the operations of The Council in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Council wants to show its greatest consideration to 9j, who has demonstrated outstanding abilities to promote The Council activities around the world. She is awarded the “Golden Hare “ award for these merits.

Miffa is confirmed as the Chairman of The Council and General Manager Europe and the rest of the world excluding Asia. The members expressed their worries about Miffa concentrating such a big territory and a General Manager America position will be a priority for next quarter. The Council expressed its worries about some “late affairs” that Miffa has been involved into and her “Orange Cap Sect” activities that were not explained to The Council to the full extent expected.

Despite her linage and experience Miffa’s sister will need to complete the habitual induction program to join The Council as a junior member. This fact is considered as a punishment for Miffa’s Orange Cap Sect activities.

The next meeting will be held in Asia in an undetermined date, but The Council urged Miffa to organize an intermediate local meeting with 9j to further development and alignment between the West and East strategies.
