Miffa's 2006 review. The last thoughts

With these boots – a gift from my parents- I will conquer the world

Hi folks!

This is my last post in 2006. This year has been great!! I’ve done so many things with Mother and Father Bunny. They took me to China, Hong Kong, Egypt, Holland, Australia, and Tasmania and to other local places in Spain such as Ibiza, Madrid among others.

They have also organized a big party for my 100 posts …That was great. I was spending my private holidays at a luxury hotel in Punta Cana together with my sisters. Suddenly, father bunny called me, I took my Vertu, replied , bought immediately a business class ticket and went back to Barcelona. At El Prat´s Airport Mother and Father Bunny were waiting for me. Mother Bunny had a rented a limo to take me back home and once we arrived our maid had cooked for us a special meal. Father bunny had baked a nice cake.

A few more things regarding 2006: I sailed a lot and I´ve become an experienced sailor even facing very bad weather conditions .

By the way, let me also mention my boyfriends in 2006: first one - this year- was Cutnejo, a nice rabbit. I even flew to China to save him from evil people. Some months before that , my Parents took me to Holland and while my Father Bunny was riding a bike , I saw a nice Dutch bunny , who just passed by. For a while, I fell in love with him, but I never saw him again. Then, at Punta Cana I had an affair with a Cuban Rabbit. I love the way Caribbean people dance! That was really fun.

And I was about to forget … a few days ago a nice Rabbit called “ Mofo “ said to Father Bunny that he has honest intentions and he would like to meet me. He even dared to come home with a nice proper letter asking Father Bunny, if it was possible to meet me. Father Bunny put him in our tiny room, where we have a washing machine. I said, “Hey , Father Bunny , where is the “phucking” problem ? I would like to meet him. Look at the letter. All his intentions are good “But, Father Bunny kept him in the tiny room. Well, may be in 2007 I’ll rescue him .

My best friends 2006: Dana, a nice gentle dog who lives at our friends´ house. She is very cute and she kisses me on my face, when she sees me. I like her very much !
I have a new friend, Evasee. He is a blogger , too. I had the chance to meet him at Ibiza. Nice guy !!

Well, folks, I´ve climbed the Uluru, I´ve sailed in big boats, I´ve met nice people, I’ve broke several Bunny world records … what else can I say in 2006.I am very happy and…

I wish all of you a nice evening !! …and of course a Happy New Year!

The Chan Family wishes you a Merry Christmas

Our friends brought us a nice figure from Amsterdam

This year I won’t be able to visit my hometown during Christmas time. Soon I will move from my place to another in Barcelona’s centre. I will keep you informed about it.

But anyways I am happy to share this holiday time with my family. I’ve been living here for almost three years and I love the place, so it’s a nice idea to spend out last time here.

In a few minutes the magnificent dinner Father and Mather bunny are doing will be ready and afterwards we will open our presents that – supposedly an old man from the North Pole will bring for us-

Merry Christmas to everybody!!!

Apologies, opinions, a new apartment… live moves.

People express their opinions and thoughts

I would like to advice you about power delegation. I have been a little bit sick past week (perhaps too may carrot cake) and I asked my sister Miffu and FB to take care of the blog.

Results: a lot of complaints and nasty emails about “my” cynical attitude and “my” disrespect about other people.

What can I say? Sorry? May be, but take into consideration that these opinions were theirs. And in any newspaper or TV you need someone who lights the fire.

In less than a month I will move from a nice penthouse from where the sea can be seen to another place in Barcelona’s centre. I will miss this place and this neighbourhood.

Father Bunny works in Gracia – one Barcelona city district – that has a special character. It’s like a little town inside the city and open minded people used to live here.
Personally I would not like to live in Gracia but lately living here is kind of “cool”.

This “cool” effect, like in the area call “El Born” has some negative impact and thus the picture.

The Legend of The Kraken: Do you enjoy mussels?

C'mon Olaf you are nicer than the other one (see below)

My friend Miffa has already introduced me in this space. We met ourselves in Port Lligat. Miffa was sailing with Mother and Father Bunny and they tried to anchor in the bay but the wind was strong and it’s not an easy place. Strong currents and winds coming from the north forced me to refuge in that small bay too.

I got stuck onto their ships rudder and while father bunny was securing the anchor Miffa discovered me well attached to the hull.

They invited me to get on board and we have some sardines, shrimps and all kind off food an octopus can dream with.

Miffa invited me to join them in their journey back home, and I accepted. Now after so many adventures and fun since her 100th post party she has convinced me to post in her blog.

And my first assignment is to write about a fantastic animal that have been in sailor’s memories for centuries: The Kraken

Kraken is the definite article form of krake, a Norwegian word designating an unhealthy animal, or something twisted.[1] In modern German, Krake (plural: Kraken) means octopus, but can also refer to the legendary Kraken (Terrell, 1999). Wikipedia

I must admit that I really feel uncomfortable with the picture Miffu has taken of me attacking that tugboat. There’s no evidence of a ship being attacked by an octopus or our cousins the squids. An as a matter fact humans eat them with great joy. Giant squids (about 20meters long) have been found and lately even pictured, but no giant octopus evidence has been recorded (see St. Augustine Monster)

A "picture" made by a frenchman

What it is really true is that down in the big blue (earth surface is only 30% of the global planet surface) very big animals and unknown creatures can be found. Surely they’re more afraid about coming to the surface that you are of them.

You, humans know little bit about our seas.

www.tocatealgo.com , phuckers, City Council and Christmas

Me, Father Bunny, Miffe, Olaf, Miff, and of course my sister Miffa are stressed. May be it is Christmas, may be we are special. Who knows?

We have been very critical with the “phucking” new era of communication. Father Bunny and me were in our way to our drug dealer and inside a down corridor we saw a “phucking” paper with a “phucker” silhouette.

We were doing our business and our feelings were:
“kinda pro for being a phucking pathetic bunch of phuckers”

I made an entry in my PDA – “ visit that place”

Now we have discovered that it’s a “phucking” “follafone”’s site.

Why the city council and the phuckers who wear a nice blue beret are not asking difficult questions to them. Are we protected from idiots like them?

Say “phuck” to Orange, Timofonica and “Garrafone”.

Rice cookers and Japanese food. An easy way to do difficult things.

May be it's not the nicest one but it rocks!

Let me introduce myself – although I know that my sister Miffa has already told you about me- I’m Miffu Chan.

Like Miffa I was born in Hong Kong, just one year after her birthday, on January 2nd (2006). Miffa’s ancestors are from HK but my parents were from Japan. I am sure that you know that Mr and Mrs Chan are our step fathers. In fact we have a younger sister called Miff, while Miffe is a friend of Miffa who is living with us too.

Ok, introduction is done. Let’s roll!!

Miffa asked my couple of weeks ago to write an article about rice cooking for dummies, but I was attacked by the “white screen syndrome”. He told me that some nice people she met in a party are really big Japanese food culture fans.

Key ingredient in Asian food is rice, and especially in Japanese maki and sushi rice cooking is critical. I am not a skilled asian cooker – Father Bunny does not want me to cook with fire- but I am quite good cooking rice. I must admit that this is because I have mastered the use of one of the best kitchen aids that any Asian food lover can have: The Rice Cooker.

The unit you can see in the picture was bought by Miffa and Mather Bunny in a Shanghai’s suburb during their first visit to China. The price was 5 euros. You can buy the same unit in a store for no more than 20 euro. More sophisticated (but useless to cook just rice) units from Japanese brands are around 100 euros (They’re made in China)

You just add rice and water and then you press “ON” and wait until the “beep”. Then the device will switch to “warn” mode and the rice will take care of your rice for a while.

Sure the texture is not he same but I bet you it’s better than any Japanese rice a beginner or intermediate wan to be Japanease cooker can done.

The 22 Non Mutable Laws of Selling Carrots: # 6 Exclusivity (Pink Bunnies fight)

I must admit that I have the feeling that my assignment was truly unfair. This book is a bestseller in the “art of selling carrots category” but sometimes it looks like a silly – but funny- exercise to get some money. Some people even think that for an obscure reason the authors wanted exactly 22 and they added some scam to the lot.

Law 6 says “Two companies cannot own the same word in the prospect's mind” When a competitor owns a word or position in the prospect's mind, it is futile to attempt to own the same word.

What I like about this chapter is that bunnies take a principal role on it. Duracell and Energizer have fought for the word “long lasting” for decades. I must admit that if you do business in the batteries market this is the only word (at least the best one) to own in the prospects mind.

In more complex markets this is not easy. Sometime there’s no clear leader with a clear positioning and trying to conquer its position could be a nice move.

But who is the idiot in energizer that used the same pink bunny?

Anyways this is just as easy as the old advice “ if you cannot be the best, at least try to be the only one”

Unknown friends from Japan have conquered Europe: Miffa lost the battle.

"Yes Miffa, in Europe they're kicking your ass badly" - said my Father.

Finally my days in Punta Cana with my sisters, and lately with Olaf, are over. Now we’re again at home, may be just for a couple of weeks, but we –all the family—are at home.

Unfortunately my Private Banking Advisor made some stupid moves and my financial statement is not as good as to book a nice room at the Peninsula. Furthermore Father Bunny is mad about highest interest rates and some debts he has to pay.

Straight to the point – May be I have inherit the Rhetoric from FB- Mother Bunny promised me long time ago that will be hit Paris, but for more than a year a lot of problems and excuses have prevent me to visit this city. Let me introduce a statement at this point of my conversation; CaffeMiffy bunnies have been there flying from Japan.

Anyways, me and father bunny are here in Barcelona in a nice penthouse from where the sea can be viewed, and MB is in Eurodisney with Miff.

We already told our message for Mickey and Donald:

“Kick that phucker mouse well in his balls and get a big pole to put
inside the fucking Donald ass”

Yes, we are not very polite.

PD: The Flash movie at Eurodisney(FD) says “Cargamento” while loading.
I would like to say that cargamento has the meaning of “cargo” and is kind of heavy stuff, and that the word we use here is “cargando” that indeed is the correct translation for “loading”

Why your surname is Chan, Miffa?

A lot of people asked me why my surname is Chan. There’s no mystery about this, my surname is Chan, as others’ are Fernández, Smith, Schumaker, Frundsen, etc.

In fact my real surname is Ka Shing but I decided to use a more common Chinese surname and my choice was Chan.

From wikipedia:

Chén (Simplified Chinese: 陈, Traditional Chinese: 陳) is one of the most common Chinese family names. It ranks at the 5th most popular surname in Mainland China. Chen is also the most common family name in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. It is usually romanised as Chan in Cantonese, and sometimes as Chun. In Fukien (Hokkien, Taiwanese, Southern Min) as well as Teochew (Chiuchau), the name is pronounced Tan. In Hakka, the name in pronounced Chin. Some other Romanisations include Zen and Ding.

Being me a bunny from the southern territories (Hong Kong) it was the perfect choice, wasn’t it?

Some people from Japan told me that “Chan” is a common suffix, and while in Australia girls that I met in malls, even our Dive master (from Japan) called me Miffa Chan (but they have no idea about my surname)

A good bunny friend from Tokyo sent me this wikipedia entry:

Chan (ちゃん, Chan?) is the hypocoristic suffix, used to refer to children, animals, and people whom one has known since they were children. To use chan for adults whom one has not known since their childhood requires considerable intimacy, less for women than for men. Furthermore, attaching chan to a modified stem is more intimate than attaching it to the full form of the basic name. Chan may also used for celebrities as a title of affection. For example, Arnold Schwarzenegger gained the nickname Shuwa chan in Japanese. Although traditionally honorifics are not applied to oneself, some young women
occasionally develop the habit of referring to themselves in the third person using chan. For example, a young woman named Maki might call herself Maki-chan rather than using a first person pronoun. Chan is also used for pets' names and when referring to animals, such as usagi-chan (or, more frequently, usa-chan: rabbit+chan) (e.g. Tama-chan, the flying turtle in Love Hina), or when speaking to small children.

But this is just a "funny" coincidence. I really hope that all your doubts are solved.

The 22 Non Mutable Laws of Selling Carrots: # 5 Focus

Sometimes breaking the law is a good move !

This is one of my favourites, but I really screwed it up a little bit. Focus regarding carrots means “do not put more carrots in your mouth that the amount you can’t actually chew”

What Mr Trucha and partners originally said it was: "The most powerful concept in marketing is owning a word in the prospect's mind".

Easy? Here it is the opinion of Alain Duffou - Alain is an executive who works for one big French company – I love to talk with French people over the phone because his funny and cheerful accent speaking English is unbeatable as their efforts to sell luxury cars.

“I can't help but to think that this book has overly simplified thinking”

I totally agree about that. If you think that managing markets and consumers can be reduced to 22 laws you would need to buy the bestseller “How to win a million dollar in Las Vegas with no effort”

Ehemm… About the law itself. You must conquer a piece of your customers (prospects) minds with a word or concept powerful enough to describe your activity and aim.

Fresher taste ™ is a good choice. I would prefer Miffa’s own ™ (but FB told me I am not a TV star and I have no “share of mind”
